2. Course Layout & Playability
- Design: The first 4 holes are close to the lake giving great views. The last 5 holes have a bit more elevation and rolling terrain.
- Difficulty: It has a few spots that pull on “hero” shot strings, but it’s easier then it is difficult.
- Yardage: Whites: 2667 yards and

- Water Coolers: None.
5. Food & Beverage
- Hot Dog Index: No Glizzies, only snacks π₯Ί
- Beer Selection: Nothing crazy, but some domestic cans that you can enjoy with lake views.

- 19th Hole: No restaurant, most are here for the golf.
6. People & Energy
- Staff Friendliness: Everyone is pretty welcoming and helpful.
- Fellow Golfers: I’ve played with a few randos, and they are less awkward then me, so 10 out of 10!
- Local Characters: Joe does a pretty funny Justin Bieber impression!
7. Value
- Price vs. Experience: $13 for 9 holes on the lake … No brainer.
- Replay Value: If you live near by, it’s trivial to swing by and knock out a quick 9.
- Hidden Fees: Only if you slice a few balls into the lake on #2.
8. Awkward Factor
- Awkward Moments: Don’t slice on #4 … pretty sure the cars are OB.
- Overall Fun: Regardless of your score, with good weather you’ll have a good time.
π Final Verdict
Shoop Park might not have a glizzy in sight, but it delivers on everything else β chill energy, great lake views, and a pure, no-frills muni golf experience. Itβs the kind of place that reminds you why you fell in love with golf in the first place: no pretense, just play.
For $13, itβs a steal. Bring your own glizzie, grab your buddies, and soak up the lake breeze.
Glizzy Index: π / π
Final Thought: If golf had a dive bar, itβd look a lot like Shoop Park β and I mean that as the highest compliment.
